Biography

Photo Steve Steve Gendron is born on May 14th, 1979 in Quebec city. In his early days, Steve is hitting the rhythm of the songs he's hearing daily.

At twelve years old, he creates is own rythm on his own instrument, the drums. When he is thirteen years old, he forms is own group playing Hard Rock. At sixteen years old, he discovers and plays jazz, latin and funk style and become a freelance musician as a studio drummer. He records for various local artists.

To become a more versatile musician, he takes piano courses in 1997 for a period of three years.

He never stops improving his skills for drums by following courses with various teachers including Stephane Chamberland (in october 2003). It was going to be a turning point in Steve's career. Since 2005, he's continuing his formation with Stephane Chamberland and following his advices, he went to New-York to be trained by Dom Famularo.

He also studied with John Riley at the Manhattan School of Music, John Favicchia in New-Jersey. He now works in close collaboration with Stephane Chamberland and Dom Famularo to perpetuate drums teaching with the Wizdom drumshed vision and he's a team member of the Vic Firth educators (PDT).

Today, Steve lives with his passion for the drums as a teacher and musician. Being really flexible and always looking for new styles, he is active on the Quebec scene and on the national scene having accompanied more than 50 artists on stage and in recording studio (Rock, jazz, blues, latin, R&B, func, etc...).
